Project work

The retainer runs the program. New builds are priced on their own.

Building a new tool or changing an existing one is a Loque Logic project, quoted at a fixed price and paid separately. Because it's paid for on its own, we manage it under the retainer without touching your hours. Retainers are designed so normal operations, and the occasional emergency, don't need extra hours. Your projects run in cloud accounts you own and pay for directly, with no markup from us; the one exception is the Embedded and Partner dashboards, which we host.

  • Rates. Our standard rate is $250 an hour. Retainer clients pay $200, including for any hours they add beyond their monthly allotment.
  • Billing. Retainers are billed quarterly, with no setup fee.
  • Leaving. You can leave at any time on 90 days’ notice. If you end it partway through a quarter, the next quarter is prorated.
  • Emergencies. Tiers are sized so the occasional emergency fits inside your monthly hours, along with normal operations.
  • Unused hours. They roll over, up to twice your monthly hours: 10 on Foundation, up to 40 on Partner.
  • Handoff. Every exit includes a handoff: the internal documentation and MD files, a runbook, current software documentation, access changes for every repository and service, and a transition call. Anything extra you ask for is billed at your retainer rate.

Security oversight on top of any tier.

For businesses that answer to a regulator. The layer adds $1,000 a month to Foundation or Active, and $1,500 a month to Embedded or Partner, with the controls your industry's rules call for. Compliance also depends on how your organization uses its systems, so we show your compliance lead exactly how everything is set up.

How is a fractional AI Automation Director different from ongoing support?
A fractional AI Automation Director retainer includes ongoing support, so it isn't an extra cost on top. Ongoing support on its own, usually $250 to $3,000 a month, keeps one system we built running. The retainer covers that maintenance for your completed projects and also runs the wider program: vendors and contracts, the AI roadmap and use policy, AI spend, monthly reporting and the projects other firms deliver.
Do new builds use our retainer hours?
No. New builds and changes to existing tools are separate Loque Logic projects with their own fixed price, and we manage them under the retainer without drawing on your hours. Retainer hours are sized so normal operations and the occasional emergency fit inside them, without buying extra time.
Who owns the cloud accounts your systems run in?
You do. For each project, Loque Logic sets up cloud instances in accounts that belong to your business: you own the account, you pay the cloud provider directly at their price with no markup from us, and we work inside your accounts. The one exception is the management dashboards in the Embedded and Partner tiers, which we host.
Is there a long-term contract for a fractional AI Automation Director?
No. Loque Logic’s fractional AI Automation Director retainers have no long-term contract and no setup fee. They’re billed quarterly, and you can leave at any time on 90 days’ notice; if you leave partway through a quarter, the next quarter is prorated. Every exit includes a full handoff: internal documentation, a runbook, current software documentation, access changes for every repository and service, and a transition call.
Does the retainer manage our AI agents, including ones another company built?
Yes. A fractional AI Automation Director manages every AI agent and tool a business runs: the ones Loque Logic built, which are maintained under the retainer, and the ones other vendors built, which fall under vendor and tool analysis and vendor project management. Whether Loque Logic can take over maintaining a specific agent it didn't build depends on its code and documentation, so that's agreed in scoping.
